I've a low blood flow during my menses n it lasts for just 2-3 days.I hardly need to change my pad.Moreover, i've excruciating pain on 1st day.?

Normal: Your situation doesn't seem to be outside of normal. If you have had this pattern since you started your menstrual history, it may be normal for you. A lot of times women who have had Mirena (levonorgestrel) iud or another form of Progesterone contraception such as depo-provera had shorter periods that don't return to their "normal" state after discontinuation. Common: One of the side effects of depo provera (medroxyprogesterone) is prolonged and/or heavy bleeding especially the first 12 weeks. If a gynecologist gave it, he/she probably has an after hours answering service. Call the office and speak to the on call physician. I usually treat depo patient with a couple weeks of oral provera to thin out the lining much faster and control the bleeding. ...Read more

Can be: It's possible that this cycle was normal. The definition of menopause (average age is 51), is 1 year without a period. Given that this type of bleeding can be associated with uterine cancer, it's best that she get it checked out and possibly get a uterine biopsy to make sure that everything is normal. 99% chance it is, but wouldn't want to miss anything. ...Read more
