I usually treat depo patient with a couple weeks of oral provera to thin out the lining much faster and control the bleeding. ...Read more
My 51 y/o mother hasn't had menses in 8 months but she got it yesterday and it was a heavy one.She had to change the pads like 5 times a day.Is this normal?
Can be: It's possible that this cycle was normal. The definition of menopause (average age is 51), is 1 year without a period. Given that this type of bleeding can be associated with uterine cancer, it's best that she get it checked out and possibly get a uterine biopsy to make sure that everything is normal. 99% chance it is, but wouldn't want to miss anything. ...Read more
