Menstrual Cycle Changes (Overview)

Menstrual cycle changes occur throughout a womens lifespan. In most women when they start there periods at 9 or 10 they are often very irregular and heavy. As the woman matures the cycle tends to shorten to a few days and becomes regular every 29-32 days. The periods in the perimenopausal period tend to be irregular and heavy similar to how they started.
