The menstrual cycle begins with the shedding of the uterine lining, resulting in bleeding from the vagina. A few weeks later, one ovary releases an egg and the uterine lining thickens in preparation for a potential pregnancy. Pregnancy can occur at this stage if sperm fertilizes the egg. If the egg is not fertilized, the egg will leave your body and ...Read more

If my gf has been on birth control, regularly. And has been for over 4 months. And we know her menstral cycle. Plus the next morning, take the morning after pill, is it at all safe to not use a condom and ejaculate inside of her?
Probably: I believe you indicated that your gf is using the bcp for 4 months and she takes the morning after pill after every sex. First, the bcp is very effective but not 100%. Second, she does not and probably should not take the morning after pill every time - too much hormone. Third, the condom is also protecting you from std. If you want safe sex and extra protection then use condom. Talk w/ your doc. ...Read more

Are there any pills that are safe to take while breastfeeding that could delay my menstrual period for a few days or a week? It'd really help, thanks!
Yes, oral progrstins: First, breast-feeding is a great decision. Breast-feeding alone can give you reduced or absent cycles. There is a specific type of birth control pill call progestin only pills. These are safe to take while breast-feeding and can also help prevent a menstrual cycle. Additionally, oral Provera (medroxyprogesterone) taken twice a day for 10 days can also prevent a cycle. These are medications perscibed by a doctor. ...Read more

Never!: Although it may take a few days for ovulation to occur after a period, there really isn't a "safe" period of time for unprotected sex. If not pregnancy, then std's are always possible. I have a irregular menstrual period, it takes 8days of bleeding. Is it safe to have a sex intercourse from my partner right after my period?
No: There are relatively safe times of the month only when a woman has regular periods. With irregular periods, you never know when ovulation might occur, so there is no very safe time. However, with irregular periods, you probably aren't ovulating very often, so you may be less likely to get pregnant. But if you wish to be safe, better use something, such as condoms. ...Read more
