Hi, I'm 48 yo, have endometriosis, ovarian cysts, uterine fibroids, pre-menopausal. CA 125 was around 200's then 159 the last one was 210 any concerns?
Likely, no: CA 125 is not recommended as a screening tool for ovarian cancer when used in risk-based stratification. Meaning, assuming that your mom or sister didn't get diagnosed with ovarian cancer. Normal for women with endometriosis to have elevated CA-125. I am 42 yo and I have had 2 surgeries for ovarian remnants. Fsh shows 21.8. No symptoms of menopause. Could there be yet another remnant?
Not usually: Menopause is defined by a decline in hormone levels and their effects. As the estrogen decreases, the ovaries become nonproductive. The appearance or enlargement of ovarian cysts should not occur after menopause. See your doctor as likely, this cyst needs to be removed. Ovarian remnant: Yes, unfortunately ovarian remnant can be difficult to surgically excise. Typically, in our practice, we purposefully stimulate the ovary prior to surgery so that we can see the tissue better. An alternative to surgery is to suppress ovarian function with hormones and see if the pain gets better.
