Can i take solodyn, Advil or tylenol, (acetaminophen) and multivitamins together? What are the potential drug interactions? Side effects? Thanks.
Not at same time: Solodyn (minocycline) has many interactions; taking with calcium (usually found in multivits) can reduce absorption- they should be taken at least 2 hours apart. Solodyn (minocycline) kills our friendly intestinal flora which can lead to yeast overgrowth ; a wide range of side effects. It's wise to take probiotics ; not use it very long. Do wellbutrin, clonazepan and Lipitor (atorvastatin) have bad interactions or side effects when taken together?
No: Levothyroxine is best taken in the morning on an empty stomach for maximal absorption. Aleve is an over the counter non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug containing naproxen, which is best taken with food to avoid gastric irritation. Acetaminophen: Other than for the cyanide scare of 1982 (which has been effectively prevented since by changes in packaging), Acetaminophen has not been recalled and tends to have fewer side effects than nsaids. Not the best idea: As dr. Rosenfeld said, taking both together can certainly increase your risk of bleeding. It is possible to take an anti-inflammatory medicine while on Coumadin but you are probably better off not. If you do take it, you will also need to check you INR to make sure the Celebrex (celecoxib) isn't affecting the effectveness of the coumadin. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
