Meloxicam And Acetaminophen
I got x rays shows I have osteoarthritis in both my knees I'm taking meloxicam, tylenol (acetaminophen) and vicodin just to get threw work how bad is that for me?
Yes you can: There is no drug interactions. Always ask your doctor for more information about medication and your individual situation.
NO: NO- either one alone is fine. Do not mix.
Very common: You can be allergic to one medication but not allergic to the other that is almost identical or a derivative of it. Note the "almost".See 1 more doctor answer
My son is taking meloxicam once daily and has a fever with flu symptoms is it OK to take acetaminophen?

2 grams: Barring liver conditions, one generally can take up to 2000 mg tylenol (acetaminophen) per day. Http://www. Tylenol (acetaminophen).com/safety-dosing/usage/dosage-for-adults It used to be 4000 mg per day, but got lowered to 3000 mg a day a few years ago. Now many are advising a ceiling of 2000 mg a day.
My doctor has had me on 800mg ibuprofen they recently switched me to meloxicam and told me to add Tylenol (acetaminophen). It's not working. Is there a stronger pain med that's non habit forming that may help me?
I have just started taking mobic (meloxicam) 15 mg once a day, but also need something else to help pain etc at end of day, can I have nurofen and panadol still?
You can, but: Mobic (meloxicam) and nurofen (ibuprofen) are the same class of medications. Mild pain responds to aspirin, acetaminophen, or an NSAID alone. Adding a low dose of a weak opioid to the nonopioid medication can usually relieve more moderate pain. Rec. See your treating physician for meds adjustment. Do not self medicate.
My Dr Gave me Tylenol (acetaminophen) # 3 Pain 1 t 2 tabs as needed. He said sometimes it coverts to morphine. Is that true. And I take Mobic 15 Mg once a day.?
Depends on patient: Mobic (meloxicam) is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agent (nsiad). Aleve (naproxen) is also an nsaid. Tylenol (acetaminophen) is not an anti-inflammatory medicine. Mobic lasts longer and in most cases needs to be taken once daily. Patients react differently to nsaids. So the efficacy frequently is patient dependent.See 1 more doctor answer
No and yes: Motrin is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug, similar to mobic (meloxicam). Two nsaisds should not be taken at the same time it can only increase the side effect potential tyelnol, a pure analgesic may be used in combination with either Mobic (meloxicam) or motrin.See 1 more doctor answer
