May: Birth control pills can cause melasma and will not make it better. There is a chance that it will fade over time on its own but it is doubtful that it will go away completely. Hope this helps. ...Read more

Melasma?: That area is very prone to hyper pigmentation ( melanoma) usually due to birth control pills, pregnancy or acne scarring. Sounds like for you it could be due to acne in which case a very light fading cream could be helpful. Lupus sores: Ulcerations ( sores) can occur on any mucus membrane which is the entire GI tract as well as vaginal tract .The ANA is high would seek medical attention from rheumatologist because may be flare and only proper lupus treatment will resolve the ulcers.
