Hi, i have been using hydroquinone . i wantto take a break. please advise me with some other skin lightening agent?

I suggest nothing: In the dominent culture of the United States, which is what most of the world usually follows, pressuring someone to change their natural skin color is considered to be the height of backwardness and ignorance. That stuff is likely to disfigure you, and to what purpose? Anyone worth knowing / loving doesn't care at all about your skin tone, and workplace discrimination is utterly illegal. ...Read more

Is hydroquinone safe for lighting the skin and dark circle around the mauth?

Be cautious...: Currently, the short answer seems to be that it depends on how you use it. Despite the controversy over hydroquinone's safety, there have apparently been no reports of anyone developing cancer from hydroquinone—in over 50 years of cosmetic use as a skin whitener and many more decades of human exposure via industrial and photography development. ...Read more

Skin: I am unsure what you are really asking. If you are tan and do not want to be, then the safest thing to do is to stay out of the sun and to let the tan fade naturally. I would advise against any harsh or medical creams to bleach the skin. Tans fade rapidly when the sun exposure stops. ...Read more

is hydroquinone safe for skin ?

Safe is a relative term.: The medication does cause cancer in mice. I would be a bit apprehensive if using this medication if you become pregnant. Unfortunately there's not a study that says it is safe if you're pregnant. It is frequently used over-the-counter and a 2% concentration but the 4% concentration which is felt to be most effective for smoothing the discolorations of the skin is a prescription item. ...Read more

Is hydroquinone safe for skin decoration?

Is hydroquinone safe for skin decoration?

Sun block is key: Skin lighteners such as kojic acid, hydroquinone, and plant extracts should only be used if proper sun protection is used. Over the counter products are safe and generally contain 2% kojic acid which limit their effectiveness. They work by blocking the production of melanin which is the natural pigment in the skin cells. Always check with a dermatologist to make sure there are no contraindications. ...Read more

Is hydroquinone safe to apply to the skin?

Is hydroquinone safe to apply to the skin?

It's usually safe: For the most part, hydroquinone is safe for the skin. Unfortunately, there is a small percentage of patients who can react to hydroquinone. The most common reaction is redness/irritation. Additionally, we do not recommend that patients use hydroquinone consistently more than 3 or 4 months because there is an extremely rare side effect of skin darkening. We don't recommend use during pregnancy. ...Read more
