An oral surgeon treated a hep c patient, no blood stain or anything on scrubs, used disinfected spray before/after taking off, do hot laundry sanitize?

An oral surgeon treated a hep c patient, no blood stain or anything on scrubs, used disinfected spray before/after taking off, do hot laundry sanitize?

Highly effective: The spray, heat, and detergent alone would make the scrubs non-infectious. Even without them, mechanical washing would go a long way. Together you can be sure the clothing will be free of transmissible virus. In any case, contaminated clothing probably carries little or risk of transmission. Without direct access of moist infected blood with your own blood stream, transmission is unlikely. ...Read more

15 weeks pregnant. Used lysol cleaning wipes to clean bathrooms. No gloves. Had room fan on, and no windows. Is this ok? Wipes also contain peroxide.

Cleaning products: Lysol wipes are safe and peroxide used topically is safe as well, i'm not aware of any pregnancy warnings. The fan is helpful and if there are fumes, the window should be open. There are however lots of natural cleaning solutions that you can make yourself that would be safer. ...Read more

Patient advocate: If your diagnosis is established, then there should be no reason to leave patients suffer with pain for no other reason. Consider talking to your doctor regarding why and try to explain to them your need for IV pain meds if that's the case. It's hard to judge here if your doctor is doing the right thing without talking to as well. If no resolution is reached, demand speaking with patient advocate. ...Read more

6yr use of homade soap water enema/fleet products EVERDAY cant go #2 without using. some reason i cant go now even after use not constipated soft BM?

Chronic constipation: Chronic constipation is very common. It is not necessary to have a bowel movement every day. Using enemas on a daily basis will not help the problem, and can be harmful. You should see a gastroenterologist to evaluate why you are constipated and to make a long-term plan to treat it without using enemas. I would increase the amount of fiber in your diet in the meantime. Good luck. ...Read more

Tooth prep tomorrow for crown & Novocain doesn’t seem to work well for me. Was thinking of trying two Vicodin 5-300 & 2 regular aspirin. Okay to mix?

Dental pain issues: As far as mixing the vicodin and Aspirin - there should be NO problems. However, if you do this - inform the oral surgeon - as the aspirin may interfer with clotting and cause excessive minor bleeding. Just let the doctor know if you do this and it may control the pain and give better relief along with the Novocain. Good luck ...Read more
