Not that I am : Familiar with. If the fibroids are not causing heavy bleeding or pain, live them alone. Otherwise, there are non surgical options like uterine artery embolization which ccuts off the blood supply to the fibroids and causes them to shrink. No: Drugs and alcohol don't typically affect irregular bleeding. Irregular bleeding is typically caused by extremes of weight (thin and heavy), polyps or fibroids in the uterus, or hormonal imbalances. Also thyroid or pituitary can play a role.
