I'm 23 and have shingles. Why would i get shinglesoso young? What medicine can I take to get rid of it? I've had this for a month already.
I have had shingles for six days and just started taking medicine. Wil it still work (the pain started yesterday) (the rash appeared six)?
Should still work: The drugs for shingles (valacyclovir, acyclovir, or famciclovir) are most effective when started early, but at 6 days should help a lot, especially if new blisters were still showing up at that time. Also ask your doctor about steroids (e.g. prednisone) if not already prescribed. A little controversial, but harmless and may help prevent later post herpetic neuralgia (nerve pain). Good luck! ...Read more

If you are on medication for this, such as Neurontin or Lyrica, (pregabalin) they do not generally show up on common drug screens. If you are being prescribed opioid pain medication, they may certainly show up, but you need to show them your valid prescriptions. If you are a bus driver, still might not be ok to take ...Read more
