Medicine For Scars
I have access to Mederma and Dermovate (0.05%). Which is a more effective medicine to treat scars? I am aware that the scars will not disappear.
Topical silicone: Topical silicone has the best record for diminishing the appearance of scars. Mederma and Vaseline were compared head-to0-head, and Vaseline worked better. Dermovate is a topical steriod and is used for inflammation. It should not be used long term, and is not a recommended treatment for scars. ...Read more
My m.D just prescribed me cymbalta (duloxetine) after being on Prozac for years. My question is. ..Is the cymbalta (duloxetine) a safe medicine, negative reviews scar me!?
Please can you suggest me an effective medicine against acne scars? I was using hexilak silicone gel which was quiet effective. Should I continue.?
Acne Scarring: Micro needling can help with scars (adding PRP helps even more), fractionated lasers are better, but more expensive. A less invasive (but slower results) process would be laser genesis to the scars. If they are depressed you can use needle subcision or fillers to improve the appearance. Silicone gel has been shown to help scars. It's ok to continue that indefinitely. ...Read more
Depends in deprh: Superficial (1st degree) burns with redness require minimal treatment with an ointment & possible nsaids (if not sensitive). Hi, my nephew is 18 and he had an accident last year. But stitches left marks on his face. Is there any medicine that can remove the scars permanentl?
None: There are no medicines that can remove scars. There may be ways to improve the scar. Moisturizer, massage and sun protection may help early on. A scar over a year old may require scar revision. This won't get rid of the scar but could help it to be less noticeable. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Are there any medicine that help fix acne scars? Or are there certain vitamins that help with acne and if there are how often should I take it for?
Scientific Rx: Nothing you can do or take will repair acne scars. I'm sorry you weren't treated as you should have been. A dermatologist can make the scars less visible by dermabrasion or other methods. Vitamins won't touch acne, but if your benzoyl peroxide hasn't cleared you, your physician can write for prescription-strength rx -- an antibiotic, retinoic-acid derivative, "the pill", others. ...Read more
Scars never go away!: But the redness will fade (if kept out of the sun or tanning bed) over 6-12 months, and rarely longer. If the original injury is deep enough to cause a scar, the scar is permanent, but the scar will improve in appearance and red or pink will lighten over time. No treatments will make them disappear, so I hope you are paying for better, not "gone." disappear is a lie! ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
