I just started using tretinoin for my face. I have a lot of white heads and black heads. My face started to itch and build allergies. Is this normal?

Yes: Your face is itchy, but not from allergies. During introduction of tretinoin it is usually irritating. With continued use the skin will tolerate it without itch, redness, peeling, etc. Use of other acne topicals, harsh washing, and use of large amounts make this worse. Wash gently. Wait at least 15min after wash before application. Use very small amt., use moisturizers. Skip 1 or 2 nights when se ...Read more

Can I get renova (tretinoin) in france?

Can I get renova (tretinoin) in france?

Not legally: Renova is a us brand of tretinoin. France, as does the entire european union, has strict rules against importing non-eu manufactured prescription medications. Honestly, I am not a huge fan of Renova and you can get regular tretinoin in france very easily. Be careful with sun-exposure and use a good sunscreen with it. Start of at a low-dose until your skin becomes tolerant and ten increase it. ...Read more

Can you take a 2 month summer break from renova (tretinoin) to catch a little sun. I mean little! Live in northeast and always in sun for summer.

Renova (tretinoin): Two weeks is a good amount of time. I usually recommend between one and two weeks prior to intense sun exposure. For moderate sun exposure, one does not need to stop the Retin-A at all, just use proper sun protection and avoid the sun in peak hours. Given that it will be difficult to avoid intense sun exposure on your trip, your plan to use sun protective clothing, eyewear and sunscreens. ...Read more

Can you apply renova (tretinoin) in the day as long as you plan on staying inside out of sun? Thus does artificial light effect renova (tretinoin)?

Avoid ambient light: The difficulty with daytime plans of staying inside out of sun is that there is more ambient light than one intends, e.g. Through windows, etc. Plans change, and driving in the car will lead to exposure to sun. Artificial lights vary in wavelength, but usually are not the major concern. Check the particular types of light used, but most people avoid problems by using Renova (tretinoin) at night. ...Read more

Yes: Botox is used to relax or paralyze certain muscles of expression that cause deep wrinkles or worry lines (ie: glabella, forehead, crows's feet). These products are complementary to one another. ...Read more

Is tretinex different than renova (tretinoin)?

Tretinex=Acne Only: Tretinex is acutaine and used for acne. Tretinoin (Retin-A) is a cream used to treat sun dsmaged skin. Renova, in my opinion, has no use as it is tretinoin mixed with mineral oil to prevent its penetrating the skin, thus markedly reducing its effectiveness. At your age, tretinoin is what you need. See a plastic surgeon or dermatologist experienced in skin rejuvenation. ...Read more

Will renova (tretinoin) get rid of blackheads?

Meds: Many patients do well with over the counter benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid preparations. Some patients require topical or oral antibiotics or retinoids as well. If the over the counter meds alone don't control your acne after a month of daily use, see a doctor for additional treatment options. It is important to be persistent, and some patients 'get worse before they get better'. ...Read more

How much does renova (tretinoin) cream cost?

Forget Renova (tretinoin): Renova (tretinoin) does little of what you want it to. Instead see a plastic surgeon specializing in facial rejuvenation. Retin-a, the main ingredient in Renova (tretinoin) is prescriptive because it penetrates the skin to actually work. You will have some irritation at first, but your surgeon can help yu through it to wonderfully rejuvenated skin. I prefer the Retin-A combined in the obagi nu-derm system. ...Read more
