Friend rec's fsrs: I'd keep to medications recommended by your doc. Were you prescribed prozac (fluoxetine)? Was it ineffective? Did you mention ur continued symptoms 2 ur doc? Perhaps a dose adjustment, med change, med addition, or increased psychotherapy is indicated. However, I'd work in concert with ur doc! I am just wondering between wellubutrin and Prozac (fluoxetine) which drug is less harsh or should I say safer to take, and for long term use which one is better?
Relative safety: Within appropriate dosage limits, both are safe and effective for depression. However, they have different neurotransmitter profiles. Prozac has anti-anxiety effects which wellbutrin (bupropion) does not have; wellbutrin (bupropion) has less potential effects on sexual function. Orlistat blocks fat: absorption and has no interactions with Prozac, (fluoxetine) Simvistatin, or Allopurinol. Grapefruit juice can significantly increase the blood levels of Simvastatin.
