Medicine For Pantoprazole Allergy
What is the connection between Protonix (pantoprazole) and seasonal allergies? I have had significant year- round allergies my entire life and they are now non-exist
Gastric reflux: Acidic reflux is irritating to the nasal mucosa and can cause symptoms similar to allergy. It seems likely that you have treated acid reflux and removed the irritating trigger, thereby also treating your "allergy" (or at least the acid reflux was exacerbating allergy-related inflammation). Well done! ...Read more
Allergies occur when your immune system is triggered by envirionmental factors it should ignore--for example, pollen in the air, or dander on a cat or dog--and creates cells to fight against them. An allergic reaction typically causes itching, congestion, or drainage, and ...Read more

7 days on pantoprazole and still burping up stuff, but with no acid now, is this normal or is something wrong? Will the drug take more time to work?

Too much gastric acid. What medicine should I take? What food should I avoid? Is it proper to take pantoprazole sodium to relieve the pain?
Which controls reflux best: 150mg ranitidine twice a day, 20mg protonix (pantoprazole) twice a day, 40mg protonux once a day or combo of both drugs?
Reflux: A lot of people take protonix (pantoprazole) just once daily at either 20 or 40mg and do well but others, anecdotally, seem to prefer taking the 20 mg dose twice daily. Ranitidine can work well for a lot of people as well (twice daily). however, if your reflux is very severe I recommend that you get an evaluation by a gastroenterologist to make sure it's you're only dealing with simple gastroesophageal reflux ...Read more

I take 40mg of pantoprazole one time each day. What OTC medicine can I take as effective alternative? What dosage of it should I take?
Treating Acid reflux: I always want to start with why you are not treating the underlying reason for your heart burn? Taking a medication daily just to suppress something that is abnormal seems good in a short period, but not good for long term. Do you know why you have heart burn? Do you know which foods cause this to be worse? Does your physician discuss this with you? ...Read more
Is amitriptyline a good medicine to treat panic disorder I was prescribed that and protonix (pantoprazole) yesterday and I'm not sure its going to work?
Not common choices: For Panic Disorder, those medications are not usually prescribed. They are for major depression and gastric acid problems respectively in most cases. Drugs are used 'off label' more and more, so this may be a new choice. Do take the opportunity to clarify w/ the Dr who prescribed. Don't simply ignore it and don't start it until you understand why, what to expect, etc. Take care, be well! ...Read more

Is it true that taking protonix (pantoprazole) can cause a false positive for marijuana on a drug/tox screen?
Yes, however...: Until researching this I did not know that Protonix (pantoprazole) can indeed cause a false positive for thc, the chemical tested in marijuana drug screens. However, if you are taking protonix (pantoprazole), (pantoprazole) tell those administering the test first & they can perform further tests to distinguish thc from protonix (pantoprazole). If you test positive, saying you used Protonix (pantoprazole) will not work unless they actually detect its metabolites in you. ...Read more
