In Florida there is no synagis (palivizumab) season it's recommended for the whole first year. She is 4 months 10 pounds. Do u think she needs 4 more shots?

It depends: Your ex-premie Synagis (palivizumab) schedule depends on many factors. Intants with bronchopulmonary dysplasia or congenital heart disease will have very specific requirements. Because Florida is semi-tropical, many respiratory illnesses such as RSV and influenza have year round prevalence. Your pediatric pulmonologist should be well versed and reliable on current recommendations for your state. ...Read more

Baby has 2 month appt Friday for checkup/shots. What can I expect after shots with his behavior/possible reactions? He also has TOF so getting Synagis (palivizumab)

Reactions..: The most common side effects with immunizations are fever and irritability which should normally last no more than a few hours and the fever should not be high (more than 102).Severe allergy (anaphylaxis) could happen but very uncommon. What is benefit of Synagis (palivizumab) for baby with TOF pre repair surgery? He's 3 months old pink tet no other issues. Is it necessary at this point in RSV season

What is benefit of Synagis (palivizumab) for baby with TOF pre repair surgery? He's 3 months old pink tet no other issues. Is it necessary at this point in RSV season

Important question: A 3 month old TOF patient could develop life threatening bronchiolitis due to RSV and even if it was mild, would make the kid unsuitable for surgery for a significant period afterward. Treated infants can still get RSV but it would be mild. If you can get it approved, its a no brainer to me. I've watched far too many infants struggle with this disease over several decades. ...Read more

I'm curious as to what is the best medicine to cure allergy?

No cure yet, but...: Allergy shots (allergen immunotherapy) is currently the only treatment that is disease modifiying, meaning it can change how the body responds to exposure to allergens. It is "natural" and long lasting effects carry on after shots are stopped. It works for most, but not all people. Closest thing to a cure so far..... For more read my blog at: http://www.
