I can tell that I still ovulate on the pill (ovral). I get a low fever (~99.1) & change in discharge. Is this normal and nothing to worry about?
Not diagnostic: Minor temperature fluctuation and discharge do not confirm that you are ovulating, which is not terribly common on the pill. You'd need to talk with your doctor though; if you are ovulating you are at risk to get pregnant. ...Read more
I'm newlymarried, I have follicular cyst 2.8x2.4cms doc prescrib OVRAL L tab todissolve. Is it gud to the pills or it makes any issue for my first birth?
Prevent egg release: Ovral (ethinyl estradiol and norgestrel) and all birth control pills contain hormones that prevent ovulation (release of egg by your ovary). They also cause the mucous in your cervix (the opening to uterus or womb) thicker which make it hard for sperm to enter. It thins the lining of the uterus which makes it an unpleasant environment for a fertilized egg. ...Read more

Confused!: Firstly, if your menses was due on the 30th and you had sex two days later, on the 1st, you are not at risk for pregnancy because the timing of the cycle is wrong. Secondly, if I understand correctly, you did not have unprotected sex because you took Ovral (ethinyl estradiol and norgestrel) OCP over the weekend to delay starting your period, correct? So if your question is about possibility of pregnancy, the answer is unlikely. ...Read more

I was using ovral, (ethinyl estradiol and norgestrel) swithced to diane but bleeding now for 3 weeks non stop. Any help?
What are some of your side effects while on lo ovral (ethinyl estradiol and norgestrel) vs ovral (ethinyl estradiol and norgestrel)?
Can be the same: Lo-ovral (ethinyl estradiol and norgestrel) has 35 mcg estrogen, while ovral (ethinyl estradiol and norgestrel) has 50 mcg estrogen, both have the same type of estrogen and progesterone. Anyone can have side effects with any type of bc pill, but I do not have any patients on ovral (ethinyl estradiol and norgestrel) and only a few on lo-ovral (ethinyl estradiol and norgestrel) as I use much lower dose pills in almost all of my patients. Almost all of mine are using a 25 or 20 or 10 mcg estrogen pill. ...Read more
