No: But you can not stop the medication abruptly, this can cause seizures, delirium and sometimes death. Decrease your dose slowly over time. Something like decreasing your total daily dose by 0.5mg every 3 days would be a place to start. If you can't do this on your own, then it's time to consider residential treatment. ...Read more

What could happen if a person overdosed on 2-3grams of propanolol and 60 mgs of klonopin (clonazepam)?
Serious: These are very high doses of both medications. The propanolol can cause severe hypotension or bradycardia, or even cardiac arrest. The klonopin (clonazepam) can cause severe respiratory depression. This person needs to be in the hospital for at least observation, if not medications to support heart rate and blood pressure, and to reverse the klonipin. ...Read more

I was prescribed klonopin (clonazepam). 0.5MG daily for anxiety. Can this drug be taken in a as needed basis and discontinued suddenly?
Take as prescribed: Drugs should be taken exactly as prescribed by your physician. Generally, Klonopin (clonazepam) is prescribed as a daily medication rather than taken on an as needed basis since it does not start working immediately (can take up to 30 minutes or longer). Any discontinuation of a medication, especially one taken daily, should be discussed with the prescribing physician first. Better options exist for prn use ...Read more
Is klonopin (clonazepam) a dangerous drug? I take it almost every night because it helps me sleep. I have been reading online that it can really mess people up.
Klonopin (clonazepam): Klonopin (clonazepam) is a sedating medication, a benzodiazepine, that can also be habit forming. It is sometimes used for sleep, but should not be used for extended periods because it can induce tolerance (requiring more drug for same effect). I strongly suggest working with your doctor to get to the bottom of your sleep issues, rather than covering them up. A psychiatrist or psychologist may help. ...Read more

Tolerating?: Everyone has a different tolerance to medications. Both of the above can be very sedating. For those with a high tolerance sedation is not an issue. Again ck with your dr about making adjustments if you are too sedated and do not drive or operate dangerous machinery. ...Read more

Is lorazepam most similar to xanax (alprazolam)? I know duration is longer but is it the closest one in this class of drugs? Klonopin doesn't work
Xanax (alprazolam): Lorazepam is similar to Xanax (alprazolam) in that it has a short half life which means it seems to work faster but doesn't last as long, This makes these more addictive. Klonopin and Tranxene have a longer half life which takes longer to work but lasts much longer and is still addictive but less so. ...Read more
I have been on klonopin (clonazepam) 2mg once a day for a year how long will it take to go clear for a drug screen for work stopped taking two days ago?
Varies widely: The range for 1/2-life (i.e., 1mg still there) is 18-50 hrs! People metabolize differently. So, it could be over 4 full days! But if you have a legit Rx - it should be honored. Try not to worry if you are being a responsible adult. If you're not..... Well, by 35 perhaps you need to start moving in that direction. Best! ...Read more
