Medicine For Ivf Pregnancy
Do you mean...: ...Tests preparing for ivf, or once you are pregnant? Minimal preliminary tests include blood, evaluation of uterus and ovaries, uterine cavity, and usually a mock transfer - in specific cases more testing may be done. After conception earlier monitoring with blood and ultrasound is common to determine fetal number and confirm location. ...Read more
In vitro fertilization is an assisted reproductive technology. Ivf is a procedure used to treat fertility problems and assist with the conception of a child. During ivf mature eggs are retrieved from the ovaries and fertilized by sperm in a lab. A few days later, the fertilized egg (embryo) or eggs are implanted into the uterus. One cycle of in vitro fertilization ...Read more
Alot like natural: With a singleton ivf pregnancy the do's/dont's are pretty much the same as with a natural pregnancy; if you are on Progesterone supplementation you must of course continue that. Beyond that, make sure you are following your doctor's instructions, call their office whenever you are not sure. ...Read more
Mostly like natural: I'm not certain I understand what you're asking, but pregnancy symptoms are related to the pregnancy not how you got that way. In other words, if you account for possible multiples, and for the fact that ovaries are stimulated in ivf, the symptoms are the same as in a natural pregnancy. ...Read more
I have had tv u/s after IVF pregnancy at 6 w 5 days (h/r 110), 7 w 4 days (h/r 130) and 8 w 4 days (h/r 140). The h/r seem slow. Is this a concern?
See below: Not sure what you are asking. In order to get pregnanct by ivf you usually take a series of daily injections to stimulate the ovaries to produce multiple eggs. When the eggs are mature they are removed and placed in a dish with the sperm. 3-5 days later they are put back into the uterus. The pregnancy rate depends most on the woman's age. Pregnancy after is treated like a regular pregnancy. ...Read more

I'm 24 yrs old with an IVF pregnancy. My blood work came back with a high chance of down symdrome. I heard that might be due to IVF itself?
I'm 28 with an IVF pregnancy. My blood work came back with a high chance of down syndrome. Someone said it might be from the ivf?
Not from ivf: Down syndrome is a chromosome defect (trisomy or translocation). It is usually sporatic without cause. It can be familial or related to maternal age. The ivf process does not cause this defect, but the ovum and sperm used may already have the defect. Direct evaluation of fetal cell dna will be necessary to confirm the diagnosis. ...Read more

When calculating the gestational age in IVF pregnancy, should we calculate from LMP or from day of embryo transfer?
The transferred embryo is already developed to a certain stage which your IVF facility can tell you. Your LMP is very inexact and is just a guideline in non-IVF pregnancies.
the date of conception is actually around day 14 of your cycle in a natural cycle and prior to the date of transfer in IVF. ...Read more

6+4w ivf pregnancy. US show pregnancy sac inside uterus. Yaolk sac not shown clearly. Beta multuply x1.5-2d (last 8553). No abdominal pain. Is possible preganacy OK? Can beta multiply without a fetus?
IVF: If you mean 3 weeks after embryo transfer you should've had a positive pregnancy test, serial HCG should be rising appropriately. Transvaginal ultrasound could show a gestational sac (s), but usually isn't done for another week when you can see/measure a fetal pole. Fatigue, occasional pressure and cramping, and mild spotting are all very common. ...Read more

I was do IVF on17/3/2014, the pregnancy test -ve. Till now the cycle will not come. What can I do?
Repeat the test: Home pregnancy tests are very accurate. They are the same tests used in a doctors office. They can detect a pregnancy 7-10 days after conception. The best time to take one is when you miss your period. If you doubt the result you can repeat it in 1-2 days. If you were pregnant the hormone level would rise enough for detection. ...Read more

I am finishing up my IVF and I have taking a pregnancy test even though I know it's yo early to tell the pregnancy test was positive. Is this possible?
Trigger shot gave +: The first pregnancy test you took, if too soon after the embryo transfer, was probably positive from the HCG 'trigger shot' that you took before your egg retrieval (hcg is pregnancy hormone). If you had a blastocyst-stage embryo transfer, wait 9 days post transfer before taking a pregnancy test. Talk to your clinic. Best wishes. ...Read more
Yes: If you did a urine pregnancy test, there are a some amount of false negatives, meaning you are pregnant but the test is still shows negative. If you waited some time, then the urine test could then be positive. Because of this, I only do blood pregnancy tests because of "what is at stake" and you "hate" to be wrong. Hope this helps. ...Read more
How do I cope with a failed cycle in ivf? When do I try again? Is it likely pregnancy will be achieved the second time round?
Follow Up Consult: Without knowing the context of your need for ivf and the parameters surrounding its provision, it's hard to tell you anything about likelihood of pregnancy the 2nd time around. I would encourage you to speak to your provider about the prognostics of a 2nd try. It's expensive, time consuming, and sometimes heartbreaking, but you'll otherwise always wonder about this and you need closure. ...Read more
Uterus vs tube: A "chemical" pregnancy in most cases is a pregnancy that implanted in the uterus, but miscarried very early. Before any sign on ultrasound. An ectopic pregnancy, which is more common in ivf pregnanices, is a pregnancy that implants in the tube, and is usually determined based on symptoms, abnormally rising HCG levels and ultrasound. ...Read more
