Medicine For Hydroxyzine Allergy
Been on Hydroxyzine for a month now with AMAZING results on both anxiety and allergies, is it safe to use this drug long term?
Yes, but: Hydroxyzine has very little usefulness for Anxiety in the long term. It is primarily an allergy medicine. It is usually prescribed for short term use--and not at all recommended for Anxiety, but it has a following of folks who use it. Best to look into some therapy and working on your anxiety rather than relying on a phenothiazine and anti-histamine for your issues. Best to solve your issues. ...Read more

Better not: Lortab contains codeine, which can be potentiated by hydroxyzine and lead to untoward effect as CNS depression and severe constipation for example, so you don't want that, even if you space them, either stay in your system long enough, hydroxyzine stays longer, please hold hydroxyzine till done with lortab, good that you asked, always exercise caution with multiple medications, wish you wellness ...Read more

I was given Loratadine by an ENT doc for allergies & Hydroxyzine for anxiety. Can I take both at same time or just one?
Yes you can: But better hydroxyzine at night and loratadine in the morning. Don't exceed prescribed dosages, and keep the follow up with your doctors. Loratadine should be non sedating, however, in some it can cause sedation, so if that happens be cautious, and tell your doctor about it, as hydroxyzine is sedating too. Don't advance dosage of either on your own, best wishes ...Read more

Not best combo: Can make u drowsy. Likely got prescribed vistaril (hydroxyzine) as it also helps with allergies/itching. Generalized itching for five months. No rash, normal blood work no allergies found. Zyrtec. Benadryl, (diphenhydramine) and hydroxyzine don't work what's wrong with me?
Very difficult: You omitted details. Exactly which blood tests? May be serious. Best see a dermatologist. Never due to laundry products. Not due to food. Only sedation or placebo effect with any antihistamine. Severe, generalized itch with no rash is very difficult to define or treat. Sometimes we find an underlying disease which needs attention. You need a professional, not a DR without experience with this. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
