Medicine For Gonorrhea
Several options: In most geographic areas, including all of the US, the standard recommended treatment is a single shot of ceftriaxone (Rocephin®) plus either a single oral dose of azithromycin (Zithromax®) or 7 days of doxycycline. Oral cefixime sometimes can safely be given instead of the ceftriaxone shot. There are other options if these antibiotics can't be given, such as allergy to them. ...Read more

Culture : The physician should take a swab of the infected site and send it for culture(growth) to the lab which will also conduct a "sensitivity" test to see which antibiotics will work and those that are resistant and won't work. If all else fails, the MD should check with the centers for disease control(cdc) in Atlanta for the latest possible antibiotic Rx for gonorrhea resistant strains. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
Hey I'm against taking any sorts of non natural medicines , so it's there a natural way for my gonorrhea to go away?
Good grief, NO!!!: If you suspect gonorrhea from symptoms (abnormal penile discharge, often with painful urination) or a sex partner diagnosed with it, you MUST be treated with antibiotics. It might clear on its own, but only after many weeks, leaving behind serious damage in you, a partner or both. This infection is 1000 times more dangerous than any antibiotic or other "non-natural" medication. Get care TODAY!!! ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Needs STD testing: There are no effective treatments for gonorrhea except for antibiotics, especially now that resistant gonorrhea is spreading. A person with suspected gonorrhea should be evaluated by a doctor to check for gonorrhea and other STD infections such as chlamydia, trichomonas, syphillis... Until the doctor's appointment, the person should avoid sexual contact with others, so not to spread the gonorrhea. ...Read more
Gentamicin, others: True multi-drug resistance in gonorrhea is absent in the US (so far); all gonorrhea in the US is easily treated with readily available, routinely recommended antibiotics. How long should I wait after exposure to Chlamydia or gonorrhea for medicine to be effective? I know it takes a few days for it to come up in tests..
Chlamydia treatment: With recommended treatment (azithromycin or doxycycline), chlamydia is non-infectious for partners after 2-3 days, but to be safe it is best to have no sex for at least a week, and only with partners who also were treated or not previously exposed. The standard tests are reliable any time more than 4-5 days after exposure. ...Read more
Cefixime is good: Multidrug resistant gonorrhea is rare, but on the rise. If you are not better after cefriaxone, have your doctor do a culture, instead of a rapid tests, and ask the lab to test for antibiotic susceptibility. In large studies, Cefixime resistance is very rare but not impossible. So far, all gonorrhea has been sensitive to something. Overuse of antibiotics is probably the cause of this problem. ...Read more

I went to a pharmacy to get treated of gonorrhea and the pharmacist directed me to go for herbal treatment rather. that thr is no good drugs for it?
Gonorrhea Treatment: In the summer of 2012, the CDC updated the guidelines again - recommending that all gonorrhea cases be treated with injectable, rather than oral, antibiotics. If a pharmacist sent you to the herbal section rather than referring you to be tested by a physician or clinic, then they ought to be reported. That is horrifying to me. I do hope you misunderstood. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
