Overdose of flonase?: I don't know how someone overdoses on Flonase unless you sprayed the entire bottle in your nose. What is the treatment for Flonase overdose?

What is the treatment for Flonase overdose?

None: For all intents and purposes, there is no such thing as Flonase overdosage. Taking too much over a long period of time could produce some steroid side effects, but that would require swallowing an entire bottle of Flonase daily for a few weeks. There is no way any insurance company would allow for a refill per day, and no one could afford that on an out-of-pocket basis. ...Read more

I have been taking Flonase for two days and have since broken out in hives. I am allergic to ceclor. What shld I do? Other medicines I shld worry abt

Hives: The Flonase is probably for allergic rhinitis. Have u ever had hives before? If not, then stop the Flonase and see if the hives go away. Then restart the Flonase after the hives are completely gone for 1 week. If the hives recur, then u know it is the flonase. If the hives stay or u have had them before, it is probably something else. You could also try some otc oral antihistamines for the hives. ...Read more

What nasal spray has least side affects. I have allergic asthma. Nose runs clear all day. Cannot take flonase. Very senstive to most drugs. Low immune?

Technique: Please tell us why you couldn't tolerate flonase? Most of adverse reactions are from improper spray technique which should be aiming towards the side and not the center of the nose. If you get nosebleeds from all inhaled steroid despite correct technique, try an antihistamine spray. If this too failed, some people may respond to a leukotriene blocker. See an allergist if problem persists. ...Read more

Do I need to do anything in particular before taking my flonase?

Do I need to do anything in particular before taking my flonase?

Not really but...: Flonase (fluticasone) is a topical corticosteroid sprayed in the nose to reduce inflammation from allergies. The medicine is absorbed readily into tissues and hair-like projections (called cilia) on cells help spread the medicine towards the back (so no need to "snort" after spraying). Sometimes if there is too much drainage or mucus, it may help to blow your nose or use saline prior to spraying. ...Read more

Does Flonase become toxic after it's expiration date?

Just weaker: Futicasone (flonase) and all other medications lose potency over time. They don't became toxic or poisonous. Fda regulations state that the time after manufacturing when a drug has lost 10% of its original potency be designated its expiration diet. That means that on that date the drug is still at 90% of its maximal strength. It won't hurt you to use it but it might not work as well. ...Read more

What difference is there between Flonase and veramyst?

The compound: Flonase is Fluticasone Propionate and Veramyst is fluticasone furoate. They have changed the "side chain" of the steroid molecule making it potentially a more active compound.
