Fears: Sudden fears can certainly occur in this age group as their imagination explodes. I would try to investigate where these fears stemmed from (classmate, television, school lessons, etc). That will give some insight. However, if these fears are debilitating and affecting daily life, it's time to get a child psychologist involved, even if only for a few sessions (it's very helpful). ...Read more

Hi, What can I do to overcome my fear of swallowing medicines...I really donno how I developed this fear. What to do..
Symptoms? Crush?: I answer this not only as a physician but as a patient as well. Do you have any symptoms when you do swallow medications? Any signs of choking or something in your chest/uneasy feeling? If not, then crushing them is an option but that does minimize the effectiveness of the medicine.
