The people that you should be asking questions about drugs THEY have prescribed to are the prescribing doctor/health professional, and/or the pharmacist who fills the prescription. There aren't any major drug interactions, but that doesn't mean this is safe for you, because you don't give any info about your health issues. ...Read more

Caught cellulitis the day I was finishing antibiotics for strep! Day5 of Duricef, (cefadroxil) have runny nose, low fever&chills. Could it be caused by cellulitis?
Details: You don't "catch" cellulitis. Runny nose + low fever = virus, not related to antibiotic. Does "strep" mean strep throat? You have not described "cellulitis". This is not a stand-alone diagnosis. Exactly where and exactly what symptoms? 90% of "cellulitis" diagnoses by non-dermatologists are wrong. Most cellulitis is caused by staph sensitive to Duricef (cefadroxil). Question this diagnosis and consider another ...Read more

Various Options: Daily steroid or antihistamines nasal sprays (fluticasone, azelastine) are helpful. Determining exactly what you could be sensitized to in order to practice appropriate avoidance measures is also important. Other meds include Sudafed, Mucinex, (guaifenesin) Afrin, oral antihistamines ...Read more

No cure yet, but...: Allergy shots (allergen immunotherapy) is currently the only treatment that is disease modifiying, meaning it can change how the body responds to exposure to allergens. It is "natural" and long lasting effects carry on after shots are stopped. It works for most, but not all people. Closest thing to a cure so far.....
