35 year-old woman did ok for 3 months after lumbosacral fusion for degenerative joint and osteoarthritic disease, but ended up in chronic pain.....?
Allergies occur when your immune system is triggered by envirionmental factors it should ignore--for example, pollen in the air, or dander on a cat or dog--and creates cells to fight against them. An allergic reaction typically causes itching, congestion, or drainage, and ...Read more

Hi there. I just want to know if it's ok to take my off brand 24 hour allergy meds with my other meds. I'm taking bystolic, cymbalta, elavil, flexeril?
I have been taking cymbalta (duloxetine) & concerta for 4 days in the morning. I took motrin and Claritin for my allergies and feel slightly dizzy/weak?
Not likely meds...: Allergies often affect fluids in the middle ear & may explain "dizziness". I would not expect the combo of meds you mentioned, to be "causing" the problem: Concerta is a stimulant; cymbalta, (duloxetine) an anti-depressant. Drink plenty of fluids to mitigate against dehydration playing any role in your feeling weak and/or dizzy. ...Read more
With caution: There is a caution about combining the two agents as both can increase the risk of bleeding, by different mechanisms. This however would be true of any serotonergic antidepressant. You should discuss any concerns you have the prescribing physicians. ...Read more
Been taking cymbalta (duloxetine) for almost a year now and just got diagnosed with hypothyroidism. Could I have been taking wrong medicine for the wrong problem?
Vraiment?: For what reason were you taking the Cymbalta (duloxetine)? If its for neuropathic pain (symptomatic relief) the cause may be related to the thyroid disorder! . Glad you were able to identify the thyroid issue. Keep on top of it as your medication need may fluctuate over time. Watch for change in skin, bowel habits, hair loss, energy level, heat /cold intolerance, palpitations. Bon chance mon amis! ...Read more

Can I take cymbalta and paxil (paroxetine) cr together? Will anyone of these drugs cause the other to not work or possibly lower its effect?
My drug plan through work no longer covers Cymbalta (duloxetine). I take this for general anxiety. Is there an alternative I can take that would be less costly?
Depends: I don't know how drug plans work in Canada, but here south of the border, Cymbalta (duloxetine) isn't resorted to unless the patient has tried and failed a number of other drugs; or, if they also have a pain condition that Cymbalta (duloxetine) is approved to treat. If that doesn't apply to you, then many of the later-generation antidepressants and anxiolytics are now available as generics. ...Read more

Witch mor interactions with many drugs Zoloft or Cymbalta (duloxetine) and witch more safe between them?
Well one is not generally safer then the other, it all depends on which works for you. It also depends on what you are treating and what other medications you are on.
It's not: A question of strength, but of effectiveness and presence of unwelcome side effects. This is something that should be mutually agreed upon by the doctor and patient being treated. ...Read more

Both are good.: Both medicines are good. The Cymbalta (duloxetine) not only helps the pain but the depression that is ubiquitous to the condition. They are often used at the same time. You have to wait at least 3-4 weeks to feel any benefits. The effect is very subtle and you will not feel a dramatic difference as you would a pain pill. ...Read more

My m.D just prescribed me cymbalta (duloxetine) after being on Prozac for years. My question is. ..Is the cymbalta (duloxetine) a safe medicine, negative reviews scar me!?
Why hasn't viibryd (vilazodone hydrochloride) taken off as the new branded blockbuster drug. Such as lexapro, cymbalta etc./is it about side effects-effectiveness-insurance cov.
Slow marketing: I believe the reason has been somewhat slow marketing and releasing it before proving that it also has effectiveness in anxiety as well. Some of the initial side effects needs to be overcome by taking the initial starter packet and using two of them instead of one so that the upward taper occurs less aggressively. The harder it is to get patient and physician compliance, the harder it is to sell. ...Read more

What other drugs are available for nerve pain if Gabapentin, Lyrica (pregabalin) and Cymbalta don't work?
Think beyond drugs: Medications are one way of controlling nerve pain. Pain is a complex holistic process. You may be able to decrease need for meds by addressing other issues. That includes nutrient status, stress or emotional trauma that may have accompanied or pre-dated the injury, and movement and use of the limb. It's a complex topic. You might look for a doc who does integrative or functional medicine. ...Read more
