It really depends: on what medicines you took. Fiber supplements, which could be considered a medicine, would be completely harmless. Stool softeners and lubricants would also be ok. But stimulant and osmotic laxatives, (milk of magnesia, etc) can have side effects. A one time use would very likely not be a problem but, of course, don't take ANYTHING you don't absolutely need! If the laxative aids in overcoming a partial blockage, when that is cleared there could be some loose stool up in the bowel behind it. It is common and not dangerous. Probably not causing constipation. Your gasto-esophageal reflux is not being caused by too much acid! You most likely need more stomach acid. Remember you need stomach acid to breakdown your food before it reaches your small bowel.
