Medical Symptom Smell Smoke
I'm hallucinating the smell of smoke. I've had MS for 24 years, but my MS neurologist says this isn't an MS symptom. I had 3 prolonged episodes of this smoke smelling in may-july 2010, every day for 2 weeks, then 2 weeks remission.
I had an MRI for epile
COMPLEX ISSUE: Your symptoms are atypical for ms, but not impossible. Sounds like there was a consideration for auras associated with epilepsy, and questions of lesions in olfactory areas. Is smelling smoke a symptom of a brain tumor a myth? Had CT scan 2 years ago for phantom smells. Everything normal. Now constant smell of smoke x2 days. Dry sinuses? No other neuro symptoms.
See your PCP: Myth, or no myth, it warrants further investigation. Smelling unusual smells that aren't present like smoke is not normal. So the first person to start a dialogue with is your pcp. S/he will be able to advise you further, and provide a referral to see a neurologist, if that's needed. Right now it needs to be documented, especially if you're smelling it full-time. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

If the husband is the only one who can smell the odor, then special attention needs to be placed on his nasal passages, as there may be an infection there that only he can smell. History is important too. ...Read more

My urine smells like smoked ham, what could be causing this. Only sign of infection is lower abdo but put it down to endo which is very bad at the mo?
UTI, vaginitis: If you have abdominal or pelvic pain worse or different from what is usual for your endometriosis or if you have fever or bleeding then you should go directly to the ER. You likely have a urinary tract infection but the odor may also be from a gardnerella infection in your vagina or urine so both need to be examined. In either or both cases you need to see a doctor or other healthcare provider. ...Read more
