R/O DISC DISEASE: Your description of the pain sounds neuropathic in nature . You need a full exam and focused Neuro exam. Full lab tests including TFTS /Vit b12/Vit d/ Lyme disease. If symptoms persist an you have increased knee reflexes, MRI of brain would be needed to evaluate for MS. If reflexes are weak or foot drop is present. Lots of things: Severe calf pain can be due to intermittant claudication which you must address due to poor circulation. Upper thigh pain can also be due to poor circulation especially if you are a past smoker. Overexercise which causes cramping, and lack of stretching may also be a cause. Sounds Sciatic: Radiating pain up and down the legs sounds like a nerve issue. The sciatic nerve and its branches would be the likely culprit. The important question is what's causing the irritation?
