My 10 yr old daughter who weighs 107 pounds has Otis media. She was prescribed 400mg/5ml amoxicillin and is to take 25 ml twice daily. Is this an extr?

My 10 yr old daughter who weighs 107 pounds has Otis media. She was prescribed 400mg/5ml amoxicillin and is to take 25 ml twice daily. Is this an extr?

Math: Recommended 80 to 90 mg/kg/day orally in 2 divided doses. 107# / 2.2kg/lb = 48.6kg. 90mg/kg x 48.6kg = 4377mg. Two doses = 2188mg each. 2188mg / 400mg/5cc = 5.47 (5cc=1tsp). Therefore 5.47 x 5cc = 27.35cc OR about 25cc twice daily.
1) You need to know how to do math to be a doctor.
2) It's time to teach your daughter how to take pills. ...Read more
