Fluid in ears. Ent md recommended mucinex (guaifenesin). Took for 36hrs straight without improvement. Just not going to work?
Ear congestion rx: Mucinex (guaifenesin) is not as effective as other meds. If you have no contraindications such as hi bp or pregnancy, try an antihistamine plus phenylephrine.....such as Zyrtec plus D, or Claritin plus D. And chew gum as tolerated . this action helps eustacian tube drainage. Be patient. ...Read more
May need a wick: If your ear is not feeling better and you are having trouble getting the drops in properly, you may need one or both of the following: 1. There may be a lot of debris (moist dead skin cells, fungus, etc) that needs to be cleaned out of the ear canal (typically by an ENT). or 2. You may need a wick: a small sponge placed in the ear canal to absorb drops and "wick" them deep where they need to go. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
If u take 7 vauim 5mg and take niacin ANd driNkAwwater and don't take them alot how long will it take to get out of your system?
That depends: on whether you took the Valium all at one time (although 35 mg would be an overdose), or over what time period you took the Valium. Valium is a very long acting drug, and its half-life can vary from 20-100 hours. In general, it requires 5 half-lifes for a drug to be out of your system, that would be 100-500 hours (4-21 days). Metabolites may so on drug testing for up to 42 days (6 weeks). ...Read more
Of course: Hi. Yes, it's safe. Nothing magical happens on the expiration date. That's a time the company shows the FDA there is still drug activity; if the drug is stored properly, all drugs maintain activity beyond the exp. date. When you get a chance, refill the prescription. Good luck! ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Fecal impaction: there should be no need to manually remove your feces unless you have fecal impaction. Maybe you are constipated. You can clean your anus with a wet wipe after bowel movements if necessary. ...Read more
Dr put me on cefzil (cefprozil) 500 mg B.I.D for 10 days.had pus that drain and came out of my knee. does it treat stap infection allergic to 6 other antibiotics.
Depends on the germ!: Did the doc do a culture of the pus? Did he say you had a staph infection? Wound infections are usually due to Staphylococcus or Streptococcus species or strains: and there are many species of both. Some species are resistant to some antibiotics that the others are sensitive to, so it depends. Most strains of either one are sensitive to Cefzil (cefprozil). If if doesn't work, culture it again. ...Read more
Sudafed PE has helped at times to keep my Eustachian Tube open and fluid out of middle ear is it safe to use long term? ENT I went to wasn't any help.
Phenylepherine: is a potent systemic decongestant, and is sold OTC, you want to be cautious using it long term on your own, please read the labels carefully for side effects and drug-drug interaction. Saline nasal washes, and at times steroid nasal sprays can help too, but that doesn't replace doctor's evaluation. You can have a second opinion, if you have access to another ENT, it is your right as a patient ...Read more

How long does it take for vitamins to get out of your system like iron, zinc or D3 that you take daily?
Quite variable: Only one of the things you mentioned, d3, is a vitamin; the others are minerals. B vitamins and vit. The fat-soluble vitamins a, d, e & k can stay for several weeks, as can minerals- for example iron can be stored for several months. ...Read more

ETD: You can take Mucinex (guaifenesin) DM with Sudafed, but I don't know why you would do that. The dextromethorphan in the Mucinex (guaifenesin) is for a cough suppressant. You're better off taking Mucinex (guaifenesin) D and take one medication to treat the problem. Additionally, you could purchase Nasacort AQ over the counter and use a nasal steroid spray to help your ETD symptoms ...Read more
