Why don't manufactures just make fire safety furniture and mattress, instead of poisioing smokers?
They do: If the only problem with smoking was that you might set your place on fire, there wouldn't be much said on this issue. Many items of furniture are treated for fire resistance but are unlikely to withstand the heat of using them to support a lit cigarette. Smoking is so bad, in so many ways that perhaps you can use this concern to quite smoking altogether. ...Read more
Do kids with trachs (ex27-wkers) all need airway meds (corticosteroids) until the trach comes out?
Can bed bugs live on you and the clothes you are wearing? Can they live on objects? (Makeup, cell phone charger)
They don't: Vegetarians are humans with the same digestive capacity as other humans. There are animals known as ruminants, like cows, that have an extra stomach in which bacteria help them break down the cell walls from plants like grass. People can't get nutrition from grass, even if they become vegetarian. Vegetarians eat fruits, vegetables, and plants that are edible to all humans. ...Read more
They can: Dust mites can live in clothing, although most people wash their clothes often enough for this to not be a problem. The biggest area they live is in bedding. If you're allergic to dust mites, you can get a special cover for your mattress. You should also wash your bedding regularly to keep them under control. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
1yr+ shadows on wall behind dryer are actually black mold; intake ambient air = sporesin clothes. Allergy. symptoms 3+mo. Cleaned safely. What are my risks?
Low risk: Black mold is problematic for people with definitive allergies to the mold but, if you're not allergic to the mold just being in the same room with the mold without disturbing the mold should not pose a health risk. There's a lot of hysteria about "black mold" perpetuated by companies that charge exorbitant prices to eradicate it...it's not a big health risk. ...Read more
How heavy are breath droplets? Do they fall to the ground immediately? Do they float around like feathers? Or suspended in the air? or...?
Breath mist: Droplets of breath are quite small but can vary in size. If you've ever had to shout loudly such as at a wedding or ceremony, you'll notice some big drops of saliva fly out and quickly hit the floor or whoever's in the front row. Most droplets are very small, much like cloud vapor. When you're in the cold u can actually see this. Some droplets can stay suspended for several hours assuming no draft ...Read more
Yes - exoskeleton: Here are some tell tale signs that your bites are being caused by bedbugs. First you may notice blood smears on your bedding (yes this is your blood). Don't worry, wise up: 1) There are no "natural remedies" for anything. "Ancient wisdom" is a myth. It's an indulgence of the ignorant. You can almost bank on it: Anything touted as a "natural remedy" by health hucksters is worthless. Malaria, snake venom, botulism, Ebola, all "natural." 2) Pineal cysts aren't clinically significant. They do nothing. They're just there. My advice: Find something else to worry about. ...Read more
Pesticides, vacuum.: Eradication of bed bugs frequently requires a combination of pesticide and non-pesticide approaches. Pesticides include pyrethroids, dichlorvos and malathion. Resistance to pesticides has increased a lot over time, so mechanical approaches such as vacuuming up the insects and heat treating or wrapping mattresses have been recommended. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Why, when gals don' feel 'cuddly', or can't stand being in the room w/ their baby (as on the doctors tv show) are they not prescribed oxytocin? Ali
Good thought: Synthetic oxytocin, pitocin, is only used intravenously to help with labor. The new mom should be making plenty of her own oxytocin. Being a new mom, and not getting enough sleep, can make it difficult to bond with a baby at first. This will come with time. If her feelings are intense, and do not improve, she should be seen by her doctor to see if she has postpartum depression. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Can u send pictures of allergic reactions to wool? I been thinking bed bugs and dust mites but no signs of either?
Hmm!: Agree w dr. Klein. Bed bug bites may cause no symptoms or signs in some people. When there is a reaction, it may not show until several days after the bed bug has bitten. It can cause pink, swollen, itchy lesions on the skin. What can be telltale is when there is a linear track of lesions from sequential feedings – but that does not always occur. Here are some tell tale signs for bed bugs. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
