Mean Cervix Low
Not much: Cervical position and consistency is subjective, variable and not particularly relevant. It varies by age, number of pregnancies and timing in the menstrual cycle. It’s not something you need to be paying attention to unless you are in labor. If you are experiencing vaginal discharge then schedule a visit for testing. ...Read more
What does it mean if your cervix was low and soft then went high and semi soft for a week and a half and have a period?
I would say it: Depends on who is doing the examining. Is this a subjective problem? The cervix, in your age group, generally does not descend. If it does, it is a chronic issue called uterine prolapse. As to the consistency, who is checking this? It takes a lot of time examining people to feel or categorize a cervix. What sx's caused all this checking? Just curious, don't want u nervous over nothing. Gd luc. ...Read more

Take the test: If you want to know if you are pregnant, take a test. In today's world you do not need to wonder if you are pregnant or not based on symptoms. Pregnancy tests are available at any pharmacy and in minutes you will have your answer. They can detect a pregnancy 7-10 days after conception. The best time to take one is when you miss your period. ...Read more
What could it mean if your cervix is low and open, with a late period and some pregnancy symptoms. Could I be pregnant?
Low cervix: If the cervix is unusually low in the vaginal canal, it means prolapse or dropping of the uterus. Occasionally, this can be caused by a mass or tumor pushing it down. More often it is due to loosening or detachment of the supportive ligaments and pelvic floor tissues. ...Read more
Dysplasia of Cervix: Cervical dysplasia is the abnormal growth of precancerous cells on the surface of the cervix. The condition is classified as low-grade or high-grade, depending on the extent of the abnormal cell growth. Low-grade cervical dysplasia progresses very slowly and often gets better on its own. Cervical dysplasia is associated with the human papillomavirus (hpv), a sexually transmitted virus. ...Read more
What does a low, slightly firm, and closed cervix mean in mid cycle? I'm 21 days past my 45 60 day cycle. Is that normal?

You may have pelvic: Relaxation or what as known as "pelvic descent" especially if you have had prior pregnancies or any injuries to the pelvic muscles. Some women also have a shallow vagina, but if this is new for you, you need a pelvic exam. It's a common issue for women after giving birth, and if there are problems with bowel or bladder function this should be addressed by GYN. There are other possibilities. SeeGyn ...Read more

If I have low risk HPV and get sharp cramps often, what does that mean? Are those warts in my cervix? Please please clarify
No cramps from HPV: HPV doesn't cause cramps; that symptom is unrelated to your HPV infection. Warts can appear on the cervix, but usually not. Your doctor can tell by just looking during a pelvic exam. When low risk HPV involve the cervix, usually the only thing found is an abnormal pap smear -- of a type that usually just goes away on its own. See your doctor about both your HPV infection and the cramps. ...Read more

2nd pregnancy @ 12 wks. Doc says baby is low. What does that mean, and why mention it? Risk of incompetent cervix? 1st preg went smoothly no problem
Seems meaningless: Comments about "baby is low @12 weeks" do not seem to have any meaning to me either nor any scientific or clinical basis at this point of your pregnancy particularly in light of your previously normal 1st pregnancy. You may need a pregnancy sonographic exam by a certified sonographer to confirm that all is well and be reassured. ...Read more
