Matthew swallow a flat, glass, oval-shaped marble. It is maximum 2.5cm in diameter and 0.5cm thick. Can it come out or do we need an intervention?
Pediatrics: In all likelihood, Matthew will easily pass the marble within the next few days. Try to check for it in his bowel movements. Encourage eating of bananas, apple sauce, apple juice, prunes, other high-fiber foods & keep him well-hydrated. Make sure those remaining marbles are out of reach...call your doctor if he starts complaining of pain or blood in stool. ...Read more
Dr Matthew wilson told me to count 38weeks to September 18 to get the day I got pregnant/ovulation day but having trouble help doc where are you.
Count forward: It is easier count 14 weeks forward from your due date on a calendar and then the approximate conception date is 1 year earlier. Even easier, just ask your doctor to look at their "wheel" which calculates all these things. You can also estimate by adding 2 weeks to the first day of your last menstrual period. ...Read more
7yo cannot say th sound (matthew). Had speech therapy from 2-4 yo. Is this cons age app, or should I push for eval bc of prior speech problems?
Cd. Be a problem: If your son was born hearing english and he still can't say "th", he would probably benefit from speech therapy. Can he do initial or final "th"? It does matter. This could be a problem with using the muscles that make this sound or it could be a more straight-forward anatomic problem. If the school does not consider this significant enough to warrant therapy, a private therapist can help. ...Read more
I spent years building huge pecs, now I hear they offer pec implants. Is that what matthew mc has?
Hi there Dr. Matthew! I've been experiencing scalp itching for months now, and I've been using lice shampoo and dandruff treatments for a while. But nothing seems to be working!
See answer: Best wld be to see a dermatologist who can examine you and be able to give u proper treatment. If u still want to try a home remedy use white vinegar daily on ur scalp and have head bath after 10-15 minutes. It helps to put organic coconut oil on the scalp for 15 minutes prior to putting the vinegar. ...Read more
It can: It is important to look at what your calories are coming from (i.e. Fat, carbohydrates, or protein). If you are eating a lot to match the calories that you burn, you are probably in a good balance, which could explain your weight stability. You may want to consult with an endocrinologist if you think that your metabolism is out of balance, however. ...Read more

My eye burned and itched 36 hours ago. No matter in my eye. My vision seems to be getting more foggy.?
If j & j is as gentle to eyes as water why do my eyes burn no matter where I am? Fresh soft hard from many different places.
Baby shampoo is not actually as gentle as water. That is an advertising slogan. It is more gentle than many shampoos. Try diluting it by half with water before shampooing. It will rinse from your hair more easily and burn less.
Tap water does burn slightly in the eyes, mainly due to differences in salinity. If your eyes burn a lot, you may have inflammation of the surface of the eye, allergy, dryness. ...Read more
We burned our fireplace for a couple days. It's been a week, and no matter where I am, I still occasionally smell the wood burning. Why? Sinuses?
Soot: If you got soot in your clothes, or all over your house that would explain it in part. It is possible that there is soot lodged in your sinuses, but you would see it when you blew your nose. Clean your house, do the laundry, and try a nasal wash with saline if the smell still doesn't go away. ...Read more
On brain MRI what does "mild to moderate deep white matter flair hyperintensity burden" mean? What would cause be?
Complex question: Why did u get an MRI? FLAIR is "fluid attenuation by inversion recovery, " 1 of many ways that MRI signals r obtained. Hyperintensity means the signal was stronger than expected. I suspect this is an artifact of MRI, unrecognized by the radiologist. If you are feeling no different than before, & if you have no symptoms, I wouldn't worry too much. Http://www. Actaneurocomms. 10 months nunmbess, left leg getting worse white matter right side brian mri, , nerogrogist say adnormal mri can not use left leg dr not helping?
Use HealthTap Prime.: This is a complicated condition that needs to be further defined. (And spelling mistakes don't help in our understanding, either). I gather that there is an abnormal MRI signal & loss of use of the left leg. Potentially, this is the result of a stroke affecting the "white matter". If so, there's no way to recover the brain - only rehab therapy can help recover function. Use HT Prime to discuss ...Read more
Had brain MRI due to numerous symptoms. Says: mild to mod deep white matter flair hyperintensity burden. Can I get that in "for dummies" language?
Unfortunately, the phrase is very nonspecific. It can be seen from anything from normal aging to actual disease conditions. You should see a neurologist to determine if the findings seen on your MRI are relevant to your symptoms.
It's also helpful to compare any previous MRI's of the brain you may have to do this new one. Stability of findings, in general, more likely predicts something benign. ...Read more

Haven't slept well since approx. Jan 2014. I wake up many times @ night bc arms and hands fall asleep no matter my pos. Feet & legs burn too. Cause?
Need eval: You need medical evaluation for your complaints. I would start with evaluating your neck as I would be concerned there is something going on in your cervical spine that's causing some pressure on the spinal cord which could cause your symptoms. Also concern would be diseases that cause what is known as peripheral neuropathy. Please see your doctor for evaluation. Hope this was helpful. Good luck ...Read more

What causes me to get sick from burn off of charcoal burning grills I can't eat the food without getting sick, headaches, stomach aches, weak eyes puff, dizzy, weak. This can last several days (4 to 6). No matter what food it is. Gas grills or wood burning
You may be reacting to any one of a number of things. Charcoal grills produce poisonous carbon monoxide gas, so you need to use it in a well ventilated area. When meats are cooked on a grill; the fat that drips below onto the charcoal & can form polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (pahs). The pah rises with the smoke and becomes absorbed in the meat as well as being inhaled. Heterocyclic amines (hca’s) can form in meat due to the heat released during grilling. Charcoal contains coal dust and limestone which can also become airborne and can be inhaled. Patients who are treated with activated charcoal can have an allergic reaction with hives; difficulty breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat.
I suggest you keep your distance from grills and grilled meats. Stay well. ...Read more
