I've been having pain in my mastoid process and i haven't done anything to it. It feels swollen compared to my other side. Any advice?

Lump behind ear: It could be a lymph node behind your ear that drains from the tissues of the ear and scalp in general. You state that it is hard, fixed, thus it could be irregular bone that you are feeling behind the ear on the temporal bone, within which the mastoid bone is located. This is a common: Area for a cyst or an enlarged lymph node. If it is not tender and you have no ear or scalp issues it is more likely a cyst. You probably should have it looked at by your family doctor. ...Read more
