Adrenal fatigue is not a recognized diagnosis in science based medicine. Although inconsistent with our understanding of adrenal physiology, the theory is that the adrenal glands "wear out" after a prolonged stress leading to fatigue. There is no evidence or reason to believe this occurs. When the adrenals are damaged or fail in conditions such as addison's disease -- ...Read more

worthless test: Even in complete adrenal failure (addisions disease) I am unaware of this sign. I would place no reliability on this sign. "adrenal fatigue" is a fake diagnosis, and this is a fake sign that tries to trick you into thinking you have something. What causes low blood level of dhea. I'm 25 female. Adrenal tumor maybe? I have high estrogen and chronic fatigue, body pain etc...
See endocrinologist: Dhea isn't a hormone we typically measure at random because it isn't as reliable as the longer 1/2 life of dheas. Likewise, we usually don't measure total estrogen as it isn't helpful. Dhea is most reliable when compared before and after IV acth during stim testing around other hormones. Adrenal insufficiency can't be identified with a random dhea. ...Read more

Can my heterozygotes status of congenital adrenal hyperplasia (21-Hydrolaxe deficiency, salt-wasting) explain hirsurtism & symptoms like polydipsia?
Maybe: Hydroxylase deficiency is actually a continuum, and there are many alleles. A workup is probably not worthwhile. Manage unwanted body hair with electrolysis or lasers -- you're doing yourself a favor. Causes of weight loss despite eating like pig (fast food, mini muffins, sugared bevs)? Normal CBC. Low-end salivary cortisol. Other Sx are fatigue, sleep issues, and excessive urination. More likely adrenal failure or cancer, and what kind?
Rule out diabetes: And not diabetic? Doubt cancer. And why would you have adrenal failure out of the blue? Not a chronic steroid user, are you? Or had recent infection?
