Pain, MJ & opiate: Ur L5 nerve pain should b managed in other effective & alternative ways so that u may avoid mj & or opiate medication altogether. Aquatherapy, pt, relaxation, self hypnosis, 2 name a few, are effective. Fyi in 2008, over 36, 000 people died from drug overdoses & most of these deaths were caused by prescription drugs. See your doctor firs: Paralysis of the GI tract is not likely to respond well to marinol. You need a doctor to first find the cause and then prescribe the appropriate medication. Other problems can coincide with or cause gallbladder disease. Marinol: Marinol seems to help more with nausea & stimulating appetite, than with chronic pain. People with cancer or other illnesses who have lost their appetites and have lost too much weight benefit from this. It's nothing like opiates for pain control. Many medicines and treatments can work better for fibromyalgia than opiates. I hope you and your physicians can find a helpful regimen for you! ...Read more

It doesn't matter: The active ingred. In Marinol is fat soluble that is why the capsules encapsulate an oil. Expressing the oil will likely not do much to facilitate absorption but you could try. Effects from oral use of THC products are delayed and in part why they are safer for medical use. Consider using the Marinol tid routinely for 3 to 5 days to maintain levels. If you "feel" something after use try less. ...Read more
