Well,: In medicine, blood in urine is the presence of red blood cells in the urine, ranging from trace blood to gross blood in urine. It may be benign, or it can be a sign that there is a kidney stone or a tumor in the urinary tract (kidneys, ureters, urinary bladder, prostate, and urethra). Kidney stones and urinary tract infection can cause you to have some blood in your urine. ...Read more

My urinalysis showed trace of blood and large amount of leukocytes and I was told to reschedule for another test. Why do I need it again? Am I sick?

Confirming results: The presence of large leukocytes esterace levels in the urine indicates the presence of white blood cells in the urine. However it is possible that the urine sample was contaminated with skin cells or that the results were by dipstick only. Oftentimes it is helpful to get a repeat urinalysis with a microscopic exam to prove that blood and white cells are present and then other tests if needed ...Read more

Is a Trace of blood in a stool from GP labtest in the Range of normal? Or should it be followed up with a FOB Test? Which food medications to Avoid?

Blood in stool: A trace of blood in the stool is never normal. You should see a gastroenterologist. Good luck. ...Read more

How long does it take to get the trace of weed out of a system? My boyfriend was on blood thinners because of a heart condition he has and he smoked pot with an old friend of his and when he had to take a drug test it showed up positive. He failed to tell

A few days: If it is truly only one use it will show up for 3-4 days at most, depending on the amount smoked. However, if it is regular smoking of marijuana, it can last many weeks or even months. If your husband is on blood thinners, he needs to know that there are a huge number of potential drug interactions that can increase or decrease effectiveness of blood thinners and put him at risk, including pot. ...Read more

What does blood trace intact mean when talking about an urine test? Thank you

Unclear question: All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Having said that, what you described is likely the presence of a few red cells in urine. If this is an isolated finding it may not mean much at your age. You may consult this site and discuss the matter with your doctor:

Repeat X 2-3: You are taking medication for high blood pressure, high cholesterol & diabetes--not an uncommon combination in middle age. I don't believe any of these medications are causing a trace of blood in urine. Usually, only a trace means nothing...a few red blood cells from urinary tract voided with urine. At minimum: repeat urine test 2-3 times. If blood persists, do bladder/kidney/prostate tests. ...Read more

Can traces of blood, show up in urine test (UTI test), a week before your period?

No, but...: The specific connection between urine trace blood and period is unlikely, but the finding of trace blood on urine chemstrip is nothing uncommon at all. If found, microscopic urinalysis for properly collected urine is needed and a detailed history on general and urinary health is also required for clinical correlation. More on UTI...? Repeat culture: First, you should not have a UTI for 4 months. If you have been properly cultured and treated the UTI should resolve.
