Male To Female Hormones Before And After
A hormone (from greek ὁρμή, "impetus") is a chemical released by a cell or a gland in one part of the body that sends out messages that affect cells in other parts of the organism. Only a little amount of hormone is required to alter cell metabolism. In essence, it is a chemical messenger that transports a signal from ...Read more
Getting older: May lose male hormones but unlikely to develop male hormones. If men are young and with low hormones, testosterone addition may be required.
Their levels: Both males and females make estrogen and testosterone. Females make much more estrogen leading to female physical characteristics (breast development, body shape, etc) whereas males make much more testosterone leading to their physical characteristics (male pattern hair, muscle mass, etc). Also, women produce Progesterone as a consequence of ovulation and lots during pregnancy.
Go to Doctor: The transition from male to female needs to be done under the careful supervision of a doctor specializing in transgender medicine. Do not use home made hormones or hormones off the internet.
I'm a transgender male looking for a female hormones, my question is can I take more than one hormone? And what is the female hormon for femenine body
Stick with doctor...: Managing transgender requires a solid dedication of patient and doctor with a close followup & monitoring on a lifelong basis. For M to F transgender, he needs androgen blockers and estrogen. For more on transgenderism, go to http://www. Medscape. Com/viewarticle/856234#vp_2. Online care does not suffice to provide optimal transgender care.
I'm a male looking for female hormones to become more femine looking! I've always felt like I was a genetic girl?
Need to see a dr -: If you feel this way, you will probably need to start with a psychiatrist to do a thorough evaluation and help ensure that hormones or surgical treatment are appropriate to treat this feeling. I don't think any doctors would feel comfortable prescribing these without a psychiatric consultation first. There are centers for pts who want to do gender reassignment with expertise in treating this.See 1 more doctor answer
Can testostetone change into female hormones in the male body when given the pellets by your doctor?
To an extent: Excess amounts of testosterone given to a male can be metabolized into estradiol. This is particularly the case in overweight or obese men, because it is the fat cells that metabolise testosterone into estradiol. This is also why men on Testosterone therapy need to take an aromatase inhibitor like arimidex (anastrozole).See 4 more doctor answers
Why is bioidentical compounded testosterone covered for men by insurance but few female hormones mostly synthetic and no compounded ones for Women are?
It's a Mystery: One of my greatest frustrations in caring for patients is dealing with insurance coverages. Not only are their discrepancies between sexes but every year they change forcing us to treat the patient with what is covered and not what is best for them. Another example is Breast Reconstruction is covered after breast cancer but testicular prosthesis is not covered after testicular cancer. Mind Boggling
See below: Basically men and woman have the same hormones but in different proportions. The body always wants to be in balance. When it s not you get abnormalities like hot flash, night sweat, painful periods, etc. In a elementary since when people say female hormones they mean estrogen and when they say male hormones they mean testosterone, but there are so many more hormones.
Avoid: The natural thing is to leave your hormones alone; they're probably balanced perfectly as is. If you have problems, get evaluated by your doctor and get it diagnosed and treated properly. Don't take some store-bought or internet junk that you don't know what it is or what it's supposed to do. Won't help you and could harm you. Don't get medical info from friends, tv, or the internet.
Hormones: You should not take more female hormones until you have seen your doctor about this!
Authorized pharmacy: Dear NSteinberg, I am not sure I can understand completely your question. Female hormones are considered a medication and because they can potentially have important side/adverse effects, they should be taken under the supervision of a physician. I would recommend avoiding over-the-counter products containing these hormones, since this industry is not well regulated. I am sorry I can't help more
I'm just wondering, if you are born a female and you take female hormones will your physical features change?
Yes, and: If you're not deficient and receiving the hormones from a physician for a true medical problem -- they could be harmful to your health when you're young. Later they may be needed for replacement of deficiency or contraception, but only when prescribed by a physician.
Many ways: Hi estrogen shots not common! Pill, skin patch, vaginal cream are commonly used.
Do you need to?: Hi. Have you had your ovaries removed? Do you have premature menopause? Turner's syndrome? Etc? You have not told us why, at age 35, you NEED to increase your estrogens, or if they're even low! Without that info, it's difficult (and irresponsible) to make recommendations.
