Male Clomiphene Attenuation Pituitary
Could male taking clomiphene for years have attenuation
of endogenous LH production from pituitary?
Male fsh=2.63; test.=228; no LH tested. prescription for Clomid (clomiphene) 25mgqd. If stopped, risk of no sprm prduction? Hiding pituitary tumor? How long to clear system?
Maybe: Normal fsh suggests testes making sperm. Clomid (clomiphene) will induce higher fsh so testes might make more sperm. Clomid (clomiphene) can also increase lh such that testes also increase testosterone production. Suppressed lh & fsh in face of low testosterone suggests pituitary tumor. So does high prolactin leading to galactorrhea (breast milk). Check these levels & consider pituitary MRI if still worried. ...Read more

Low Testostorone, low free T, low SBGH, normal LH, FSH, and TSH. Had increase in T with clomid (clomiphene). Does this rule out pituitary / hypothalamus problem?
Here are some ...: Congratulate for improving T with Clomid, (clomiphene) but need to correlate T-level with clinical low-T-related Sx. This indicates HPT(hypothalamus-pituitary-testicular) axis still functions but suggests some dysfunction in hypothalamus, which has been observed in those having taken CNS-effecting drugs such as opiates for a long duration. Nonetheless, you're in best possible care and continue its use. Best .. ...Read more
