19 year old male, and my ankles crack whenever I walk barefoot, but the don't hurt, what should I do?
Ankle crack: Often times it really is not the ankle joint that is "cracking" but the joint just below the ankle - the subtaylor joint. This is most often in patients with flat feet (heels are outside of the leg). A good arch support can help, sometimes a custom orthotic or brace. Tendon movement: Many times the snap of a joint is merely a tendon moving over the joint. If there is not pain associated with the crack, it is usually not a bone problem. You should get this checked by a podiatrist to be sure.
My ankles continuously crack when i walk or twirl them. It doesn't cause pain but it makes a loud sound and its been happening for a while. What is it?
Unknown: I don't believe anyone knows for sure what exactly causes certain joints in the body to crack or pop. Theories include snapping of tendons or negative pressure in the joint fluid pulling in nitrogen gas. If it begins to be painful, i would then suggest evaluation by a physician. Need more info: Injury or no injury? Swelling or no swelling? Any overuse activities liking hiking, running or sports? Pain on the front, inside, outside or back? Cracking is not necessarily associated with the pain, or can be a sign of swelling, with enlarged soft tissues or fluid in the joint or around ligaments/tendons. Wear brace: as the injury is already over a month old, hard to know how severely is without knowing what you may have done with at home treatment or how the injury occurred specifically. This far out, home remedies may not be as effective (ice, brace, rest) and you may be able to find a foot/ankle specialist that can see you /treat you for a reduced fee. Definitely call around.

Varies: It varies a little based upon the cause of the "cracking". If it has some degree of instability, it can help to strengthen the ankle. You can buy a resistance band and strengthen your ankle and it may potentially help. Also, don't hesitate to be seen if you are having enough trouble with it for an accurate diagnosis. Supplements unlikely to be if any benefit.

Not really.: Why did you have a fracture? I like my patients to go into a flat or 4mm drop shoe for stability. The foot usually is fairly soft too.
Moved 1month ago & when walk on carpet with bare feet the tops of feet & ankles get tingly & itchy.
