YES!: Magnesium is an essential nutrient and we need it every day. It is safe ; non-toxic. If you take too much (esp. A poorly absorbed form) it can cause loose stools. The only potential hazard is in those with kidney failure, who are at risk of toxicity. Otherwise it is perfectly safe to take every day. See http://bit.Ly/1dpai09. ...Read more

Probably OK but Why: I guess the easy answer is that it is probably safe. However I am not quite sure i understand why you are doing this. Lithium orotate is very low dose formulation of lithium ( a medication used mostly for bipolar or manic depression) that is available over the counter. It seems like an unusual choice to help you sleep. ...Read more
Can I take 50 mg of deoxylamine succinate, 3 mg of Melatonin, and 3 mg of Ambien (zolpidem) together for chronic insomnia and poor sleep quality?
You could, but: I fear that you are getting into a rather bad sleep/ medication cycle which will eventuate in medication tolerance, and worsening sleep. This is very complex, and at age 25, may need more direct help. There are sleep specialists available to guide you, and here on site, a couple experts in area. I thing a Concierge virtual visit is well worth your time. ...Read more

Many alternatives: There are many alternatives, but it depends on why you're looking for an alternative. Is Klonopin (clonazepam) not working? Perhaps the dose in wrong. Are you looking to get off of benzodiazepines (the drug class that Klonopin (clonazepam) is in) altogether? If so, then your doctor should slowly titrate you off the medication (10-25% weekly or biweekly, depending on how long you've been taking) while initiating another med ...Read more

Yes: In my opinion, Alprazolam (xanax) is a horrible drug. It is rapidly absorbed but short acting, which means it wears off and often results, like alcohol, in awakening in the middle of the night and having even worse insomnia. Insomnia is not a diagnosis - it is a symptom of something else. You are far better off talking with your doctor about the reason for the insomnia to find specific treatment. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Treat anxiety first.: The use of Buspar (buspirone) and xanax are only useful for short term or for occasional treatment of anxiety. They lose effectiveness after a period of monthe.
