2nd opinion needed: If you are having the rectal pain with need to poop, and have not gotten any solid answers, it time to consult your pcp doctor, who can refer you to a proctologist, who can measure the pressure of your rectal sphincter to see if it's working or not. Mag citrate makes you poop more, aggravating the issue more than helping it. Discuss this with your doctor. Also a stool analysis may be useful. ...Read more

What?: Why did you take a medication not knowing what it does/is for? Magcitrate treats constipation. It usually is "effective" within 6 hrs, if going to see results. Can cause gassy/abdominal cramps and pain while it tries to make things move. Citric acid is in all citrus fruits, among many other things for flavoring and preservation. ...Read more
