I have been prescribed Macrodantin 100 mg 4 times a day, 7 days. Is this medication safe. For a UTI? I have read about bad side effects. Thank you
Generally UTI safe.: Macrodantin (macrobid) is commonl;y used in UTIs and is usually prescribed twice daily for 7 days. It is generally quite safe, and can be used in pregnancy. I am experiencing ankle swelling in only one ankle. I have been on Macrodantin for a week could this be causing the swelling? I take 100 mg at nite.
Macrodantin is not the culprit..you need an in person visit to determine the reason for the swelling..local issues have to be ruled out..vein problems etc.
