Doctor insights on:
My husband has a high lymphocyte %, low RBC count, and high mch, what does all this combined mean?
Insufficient info: Your husband may be anemic and needs further evaluation for the cause. A high mean corpuscular hemoglobin concentration has little meaning absent a full picture of all other parameters measurable. The high % of lymphocytes, again, in and by itself, has little impact on establishment of a diagnosis. Labs are of little value absent good history, physical exam and a thoughtful knowledgeable doctor. ...Read more
Hard to say: These numbers don't mean anything special, particularly when quoted without the other values on the white count and or without a history and exam. ...Read more
Childs lab showed a high % lymphocytes, low % neutrophils but absolute values for both were normal. No blasts/atypicals, all else in perfect range.
Absolute counts: Are the most important when evaluating blood count results. It is always important to evaluate labs in the context of patient complaints and symptoms. If they are normal range, and there are no blasts or abnormal cells, then most likely nothing to worry about. These may be the child's normal range or a mild virus. ...Read more
I am suffering from high temperature, headache & body pains.haematology test says:netrophil high(86%),lymphocyte low(8%), with "no malarial parasite"?
Other than a virus what causes low lymphocytes? Low for 8 months. Have hashimotos still feel unwell despite treatment.
See below: Other conditions include toxins, metabolic disorders, cancers, metastatic cancers. These need to be discussed with your doctor. ...Read more
My blood test shows: fraction immature reticylocytes high .19, RBC low 3.82, MCV high 382, MCH high 34.3, lymphocyte low 24%. What could be wrong?
I have a low white cell count (lymphocytes low at 35%) a borderline CRP and high plasma viscosity of 1.84. What could be causing this?
Probably nothing: Percentages mean nothing on the white count. If your absolute neutrophil and absolute lymphcyte counts are anywhere near reference range, stop worrying. The ranges are set so that several percent of healthies fall outside on either end, and the values fluctuate chaotically from hour to hour. I'd ignore the other values if you feel reasonably well, and look at history & physical if seeking illness. ...Read more
Neutrophil % high at 76.2% along w/ high neut. Absolute at 7.0, lymphocyte % low at 16.5% -- all other bloodwork (cbc) normal. What could this be?
Likely nothing to ..: Worry about if you are otherwise feeling well. Your total WBC count, based on the data you provide, is within the normal range. The modest left shift (ie., relative increased neutrophil %) could indicate an effort to address a mild bacterial infection. But more likely it's just normal variation. I do wonder what prompted the check to begin with? Additional details? ...Read more

What could a low WBC 2.5 (4 normal) , high monocytes 17 (normal below 12),, low lymphocyte, low abs neutrophil, , low abs lymphocyte be? I'm worried.
Your CBC: It's good that you're interested in your bloodwork, and nobody here can diagnose you or even say whether illness is present without more data, beginning with "How do you feel?" WBC absolute counts fluctuate wildly even from hour to hour. The best course may just be to repeat the count. Absolute neuts &/or lymphs below 1000 are worrisome but there's no danger until much lower levels. ...Read more
Lab reports;lymphocytes (low) 46.6 and granulocytes (high) 39.5. All other lab report blood/urine excellent. Should i be worried. Great physical shape?
Lab results are...: Lab results are just numbers. The doctor who ordered the tests can explain the results. Lymphs of 46.6% and grans of 39.5%, in a normal person, sounds ok. ...Read more
I've been sick for a year (this month) body aches was diagnosis with fibro. Saw hematologist lymphocytes low twice in 3 months. Hiv neg what else could it be?
Neutropenia: Low WBC plus low neutrophils is known as neutropenia. You don't really have high lymphocytes - you have to have100% of something so the lymphocytes appear proportionately higher since the neutrophils are low. You need to see a hematologist to determine the cause of & treatment for your low white cells. Please see my earlier posts on this topic for more information. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
What is the indication of a low lymphocytes, low monocytes, low ferritin, high eosinophils, and high mch?
Iron deficiency: You most likely have iron deficiency. Percentages of lymphocytes, monocytes and eosinophils may not be pertinent. It is the absolute numbers of these cells that is important. The low ferritin likely represents iron deficiency. As a 39 year old woman, menstrual blood loss and perhaps recent pregnancies may be the cause, but you should see your doctor to determine why you might be iron deficient. ...Read more
My prick test of dust allergy is positive and my IgE level is 498 and lymphocyte low 38.2 and neutrophil high 42.3 what does mean ?
There is a differenc: If the 42.3 and 38.2 are percents of your total white blood cell (WBC) count they're fine. What did your board certified allergist tell you? If you didn't see one that's why you should have. Doing or ordering a test is technical, appropriate interpretation, explanation, and treatment is the extensively taught, practiced and honed skill of a specialist. ...Read more
