Infection, shingles?: This sounds like a skin infection of some sort. It could be a bacterial infection (e.g. staph, strep, etc) but I'm more suspicious of herpes zoster (shingles). I'm 22 with 2 swollen lymph nodes on 1 side of my neck for 7 months. They are painless, soft, kinda movable, small, & have not grown. Should i worry?
Lymph nodes: Probably not. Probably they are reactive lymph nodes- either from chronic inflammation on the throat or something in your mouth like gum inflammation or tooth problems etc. Since they have been there for 7 months- next time you see your doctor bring this up so your md can examine them. Could be anything: Persistant swollen lymph nodes for prolonged periods of time is likley to be a result of a resolved infection or other inflamitory state. The other concerns would of course be lymphoma or sarcodosis.
