Are there lymph nodes in the inside crease of the elbow?

Yes and nearby: Lymphatic system absorbs/carries things too big to go into the arteries/veins like bacteria eaten by white cells and digested food. Lymph nodes "taste" the lymph for anything bad like bacteria/viruses/cancers, etc. When it detects a problem, it alerts the immune system and your body reacts. They enlarge in response to the inflammation they create when they react. They shrink when all is well. ...Read more

A viral infection like "mono" can cause the lymph nodes in the back of your neck to swell. Certain cancers can also cause lymph node swelling. This would not show up on a cbc. A doctor needs to feel your nodes and decide if further tests are needed! ...Read more

I just had blood drawn 4 days ago.(enzymes ok) now my right interior elbow is sore & swollen. Lymph nodes or blood clot?

Fever of 100.2 and swollen lymph nodes in groin, armpit, and inside of elbow.... blood work says no sign of infection. What else could be going on?

Fever of 100.2 and swollen lymph nodes in groin, armpit, and inside of elbow.... blood work says no sign of infection. What else could be going on?

Thoughts: Blood work may not be definitive. Infection remains most likely. Other possibilities include lymphoproliferative disease or even lymphoma, both rare compared with infection. Continue to work with your physician to determine cause, and lymph node biopsy may be the next step (not knowing what blood work was done and more about your medical history). ...Read more
