Lymph Node Lump Armpit
Was rather obsessively checking my breasts & armpits for lumps - now I can feel what I think is a small lymph node. Could I have caused it to enlarge?
Unlikely: Do not check it more often than once in two weeks. If it doubles in size or other lymph nodes get larger, see doctor. For good health - If the result is negative repeat the test 4-5 days later unless you get a period by then. Use first morning urine and follow the instructions for the test carefully. If you do not wish to be pregnant, use contraception all the time, every time. You may consider implanted contraceptive, or IUD. Practice safe sex. ...Read more

Small lump in armpit that moves position when I put my arm up or down. Dr says swollen lymph node and don't worry, but it's been there for 3 months?
Your doctor's right: Almost certainly. Leave it alone. I'm going to assume it's freely movable and not fixed to surrounding structures. Many people your age have these. If it's anything nasty, it would have declared itself. I trust you do not have a dominant breast lump or obvious illness that you're ignoring. ...Read more

Very painful pea sized lump in left arm pit. Painful to the touch. Brand new. Seems movable. More painful than seems normal for swollen lymph node.
Cancer unlikely: A lump in a young woman's breast is likely a benign fibrous adenoma and a lymph node in the same woman is likely a reaction to a minor infection from a small injury from shaving. I stretched my left arm over my left shoulder-not something I normally do. A itching lump arose 2 days later, but no pain. Did I strain a lymph node?
No: No, you can't strain a lymph node by stretching. If the lump is itching and is in your armpit, it could be a clogged sweat gland that has caused a pimple to form. If it gets big enough over the next few days, it would be good to see a doctor to know what it is. ...Read more
