Can Lyme disease cause anxiety attacks and nervousness. A feeling that your not yourself. Maybe like a panic attack. Can antibotic help?

Indeed it can: There are a few ways that psychological symptoms can arise in lyme disease - the disease causes increased pressure in the head which affects blood flow and oxygen and causes all sorts of cognitive/emotional disturbances. The might only last awhile, but they may recur. Antibiotics may or may not help - that's lyme, right? A link: http://www. Newyorker. Com/reporting/2013/07/01/130701fa_fact_specter. Read more

My husband has Lyme disease he had a reoccurrence with nervousness and stiffness on doxycycline 100mg 7 days. Is that enough treatment?

My husband has Lyme disease he had a reoccurrence with nervousness and stiffness on doxycycline 100mg 7 days. Is that enough treatment?

Probably not but...: Acute lyme disease responds well to Doxycycline though lyme specialists advise 200 mg 2x/day for 30 days. If his recurrence is due to a new bite I advise that dose. If it's recurrence of previous infection, as dr. Raff mentions, this is a controversial subject. There is strong evidence lyme can persist (http://bit. How can I over come late stage Lyme disease. It has already hit my neurological system and damaged my nerves.

With help of good Dr: Treating late stage Lyme is very complex and challenging. Many docs feel long courses of IV antibiotics are needed but I find it responds better to using herbs, supplements, homeopathy & judicious use of antibiotics. Treating co-infections like Bartonella is essential. You need the help of a good doc who specializes in this. Listen to http://betterhealthguy. Com/dr-randy-baker-talk and see comment: Read more

Are there any illnesses that share the same symptoms of Lyme disease?

It depends: Occasionally symptoms of lyme disease could mimic those of a medication reaction or allergy, contact dermatitis or other non-infectious problem like clinical depression. Generally a physician who specializes in infectious diseases would be required in order to distinguish lyme disease from these other disorders. Also, late stages of lyme disease need to be distinguished from earlier stages of lyme. Read more
