Unlike herpes, my ulcers first have a white covering & then break open, never have a red center.Believed lupus/vasculitis misdiagnosis. Wht cld it be?
The palm-side of my hands has a mottled look, like ground beef..With the fingertips being dark red. What can cause this? Lupus? Raynaud's? Vasculitis?

No: Vasculitis of the actual nerve is very very rare. More likely things are nerve swelling ie pseudotumor cerebri, or papilledema. The answer is in the actual findings on opthalmologic tests and patient should be seen both by a rheumatologist and a neuro-opthalmologist. Treatment for actual vasculitis is more difficult, and the diagnosis usually requires a cerebal blood vessel angiogram. ...Read more

Maybe something else: Although lupus is known as a master of masquerade because it can mimic virtually any disease, tingling in the hands alone is much more likely from nerve compression such as carpal tunnel, ulnar nerve entrapment, diabetic neuropathy, and/or cervical disc disease etc... Avoiding excess salt, and using support hose can help.
