Rheumatologic : Depending on how much work up they did and then called it idiopathic pericarditis( which is by definition a diagnosis of exclusion) . Shingles, other infections, and rheumatic diseases can cause pain that may be more chronic. Ask your provider. Rib films are rarely helpful.
