Yes: A family doc or infectious disease doctor could run a panel of tests to check it. I am not sure medical science is advanced enough to do anything about it. IVIG infusions are sometimes effective in patients with low globulins, but is terribly expensive, not covered by most insurance AND exposes you to the mercies of possible unknown blood born pathogens. Still maybe herpes: This still sounds like herpes despite the negative test results. Up to 30% of people with HSV1 have negative blood tests for it, so that result doesn't mean much. Antibiotics...: Make sure you take antibiotic treatment for that. I assume you most likely have been seen and possibly prescribe something already. It is not uncommon for people that suffer of immunosuppressive conditions like lupus to be infected with pseudomonas. Make sure you finish treatment as prescribe and if no signs of improvement in 2-3 days after tx started follow up with your doctor. ...Read more
